A day-in-the-life video lives or dies on transitions. The individual moments are easy — waking up, coffee, working, eating. What people come home without is the movement between them, which is exactly what tells the viewer time has passed.

Tips for this kind of shoot
- Film the joins. Doors, stairs, transport and changing light are what carry the viewer through a day.
- Use changing natural light deliberately — it is the cheapest and clearest way to show time passing.
- One honest reflective piece to camera is worth ten polished ones.
