Fitness Video Shot List Template

Fitness content has one technical requirement above all others: form has to be readable. That means every exercise needs a side angle, because that is where form is visible, and most people film from the front.

The rest is environment and energy.

Tips for this kind of shoot

  • Side angle on every exercise. Form is invisible from the front and form is the whole point.
  • Film vertical versions of the demonstrations at the time. Cropping a wide horizontal shot cuts the head or feet off.
  • Film the gym both empty and busy — you need the clean shots and the energy.
